Hot Spot Update

When COVID-19 isolation began, we asked for donations to support the Bridging the Digital Divide program, providing WiFi hotspots to students and families without internet access at home. And, as always, our amazing community responded!

In addition to the original 135 WiFi hotspots, the Library was able to purchase 100 new devices and distribute them to families over the summer in response to requests from community partners, including Project READ, Familias Unidas, Peninsula College Fund, Cañada College Upward Scholars, and Casa Circulo Cultural. Chromebooks and iPads have also been loaned to Familias Unidas and Project READ families. Many thanks to those who stepped up, helping families stay engaged during these difficult times.

Hotspots are currently available for three-week checkouts from the Downtown Library’s curbside pickup service. Call (650) 780-7018 (extension 4), or email rcplcurbside@redwoodcity.org

to reserve a device for curbside checkout.
